WMSCOG General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol invited to the UN
First Invitation from the United Nations Office for Partnerships
A welcome guest visited USA last December. He was General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol of the World Mission Society Church of God(WMSCOG). I knew that he came to USA to visited the United Nations Headquarters in 2010 and met with Amir Dossal, Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Partnerships (UNOP). On behalf of the World Mission Society Church of God, General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol delivered a donation to aid Haiti earthquake victims. This was “the largest donation made by a faith-based organization to the [UN Central Emergency Relief Fund (CERF)] in history,” as reported on the UN website. And I was curious why he visited USA again.

Second Invitation from the United Nations CERF
The UN holds the CERF High Level Conference at the end of every year. It was said General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol was invited to the Conference on behalf of the WMSCOG! Imagine my surprise! Of course I know that the WMSCOG has carried out various voluntary services such as the cleanup campaign, disaster relief, blood drive and donation of goods and as a result, has received numerous awards throughout the world including the US, Singapore, Australia, the UK and Korea. But I’ve never heard of a church being invited to the CERF High Level Conference. Which is the reason why I was so amazed!
“I’m very grateful for the Church of God’s endless efforts which show that the global community is one… ” – Lisa Doughten / Chief of UN CERF
Lisa Doughten, the representative of CERF said, “It is the first time that a religious man attended in CERF High Level Conference.” She sent a video congratulatory telegram to the “Charity Orchestra Concert to Help Hurricane Victims in Haiti” held by the Church of God Denver, USA in November, 2016. She appreciated the Church of God’s endless efforts which show that the global world is one and friend regardless of nation, race, religion and rank with its constant disaster relief and voluntary activities.
Proud name – World Mission Society Church of God
At the CERF conference, Pastor Kim Joo-cheol introduced the World Mission Society Church of God, which is located in 175 countries, that believes in God the Father and God the Mother in the Bible and has carried out numerous relief efforts around the world with the heart of a mother. In all honesty, I thought the WMSCOG had started doing voluntary activities around the year 2000. However, I recently came to know that the Church has been continually and silently volunteering from when the church began with the heart of God the Mother who doesn’t neglect even a single soul. The more I find out about the WMSCOG, the prouder I am to be a member.
